Description

As a Web Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites that meet the needs of our clients and the agency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients to gather requirements, conceptualize designs, and translate them into stunning and functional websites. Your expertise in design principles - and proficiency in various design software tools will be critical in ensuring the success of our projects.

Job Expectations

  • Assist in creating visually appealing and user-friendly website designs that align with client goals and industry best practices.
  • Work on graphic design projects, including icons, logos, banners, and other digital assets to support client and internal needs.
  • Apply basic UX design principles to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • Optimize designs for various screen sizes (desktop, tablet, and mobile) while maintaining responsiveness.
  • Select appropriate color schemes, typography, and imagery to enhance website aesthetics.
  • Learn and apply SEO best practices to improve website performance and organic results.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern design trends and techniques to bring fresh, creative ideas to the team.
  • Accept feedback from clients and internal teams to refine and improve designs.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on websites to ensure designs are properly implemented.
  • Support agency creative marketing efforts as needed as a collaborative effort with the marketing department.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Conduct initial research and discovery including industry and non industry-related research, brand discovery and modern design trends & techniques to inform design decisions
  • Develop wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and ideas
  • Create visually appealing and responsive website designs that align with client goals and industry best practices
  • Create icons, graphics, logos and other design deliverables in support of clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure a seamless user experience by considering usability, accessibility, conversion and interaction design principles
  • Optimize designs for various devices and screen sizes, including desktop, mobile, and tablets
  • Select appropriate color schemes, typography, and imagery to enhance the visual appeal of websites
  • Incorporate user feedback and iterate on designs to continuously improve the user experience and organic results
  • Collaborate with developers, UX specialists and content creators to ensure proper execution and implementation of designs and maintain consistency throughout the development process
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in graphic design and web design to bring innovative ideas and approaches to the team
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on websites to ensure they meet design specifications and functional requirements

Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles, including layout, typography, and color theory.
  • Basic knowledge of modern web design techniques and UX principles to create user-friendly experiences.
  • Familiarity with Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design tools.
  • Interest in responsive design and accessibility best practices.
  • Ability to take creative direction and apply feedback to improve designs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to learn SEO best practices and how they impact web design.

Required Experience

  • Entry-level position – no prior professional experience required, but internships or coursework in graphic/web design are a plus.
  • A portfolio showcasing examples of graphic design, web design, or UX work (class projects, freelance work, or personal projects welcome).
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field (or equivalent skills and experience).
