Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. At Floor & Decor Senior Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customers personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements include Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design), 6 years interior design experience in lieu of design education, or a combination of education and experience equal to 6 years. Prior retail/sales experience preferred. Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus. Proficient in basic mathematical skills. Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite. Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position. Essential Functions include building and maintaining lasting relationships with residential and professional customers, greeting store customers, scheduling design appointments, providing tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects, designing and selling complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions, managing multiple customer projects through all phases with accuracy and timeliness, collaborating with store leadership and employees, supporting company initiatives, engaging in current and emerging design trends, utilizing design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary tools, participating in local professional affiliations like ASID, NKBA, and performing other duties as assigned. Working conditions include limited travel by car and exposure to a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy noise levels. Physical requirements include medium work with ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and other physical activities. Store and pickup hours are specified.
