Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process within applicable scope and standards of practice. Also provides nursing leadership for a specific area or unit. Experienced RN with good communication and critical thinking skills (analytical ability to resolve problems) who will be responsible for coordination of patient flow and liaison for communication among all care providers internally and externally.
Reports to: Director CCU and Emergency Services
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Work as RN Charge as needed. Responsibility in supervising nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every 2 years.
Qualifications: Minimum Education
Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of employment
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 12 months of employment
