This position is for a board-certified Radiologist specializing in body imaging to provide advanced diagnostic services and image-guided procedures at a premier VA Medical Center in downtown Baltimore. Located in downtown Baltimore, the Baltimore VA Medical Center (VAMC) is a premier facility within the VA Maryland Health Care System and an academic affiliate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). The Baltimore VAMC is a modern 324-bed facility adjacent to University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC). Both hospitals are conveniently connected by a walkway which facilitates integration of educational, research and clinical activities. Our facility is known for its advanced medical care, cutting-edge research, and collaborative teaching environment.


The Baltimore VAMC is one of only a few VA Medical Centers in the country with two large federally funded programs in geriatrics - Geriatric Research Education Clinical Center (GRECC) and a Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. It is currently ranked as one of the top VA Medical Centers in VA-funded research.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in interpreting a variety of imaging studies.
  • Fellowship Training in Body Imaging.
  • Experience or interest in Body Imaging with a focus on Body MRI .
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and working in an academic setting.
  • Eager to participate in multidisciplinary Tumor Boards.

Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized!!

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME: Must be full-time with board certification.

Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

Call: The candidate will be expected to participate in shared on-call coverage if required in the future to provide radiology resident supervision and/or back up coverage for the National Teleradiology Program.
