As part of Cigna Pharmacy Management, the National Accounts Pharmacy Account Senior Executive serves as the lead integrated pharmacy benefits subject matter expert supporting Cigna Pharmacy clients within an assigned geographical market(s) and client size band. This role is uniquely aligned as a dedicated pharmacy account leadership position that serves as the primary pharmacy contact for all client and producer relations and will own full leadership, strategic, and retention activities for the integrated pharmacy client. This Pharmacy Account Senior Executive position will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders including the medical sales teams and pharmacy underwriting organization, as well as external brokers and consultants. The primary objective of this position is accountability for long-term client retention and growth, while achieving Cigna's corporate strategic goals. The Pharmacy Account Senior Executive also provides pharmacy benefit and product expertise in partnership with the Clinical Account Executives and medical sales teams, as well as the Pharmacy Implementation organization. This position is responsible for working with Cigna Pharmacy’s most sophisticated accounts - many with unique custom requirements, pricing or service guarantees – while working with multiple internal stakeholders at Cigna and Evernorth, as well as external influencers (e.g. consultants, producers and decision makers in the Benefits organization and/or the Financial and/or C-Suite of our clients). Primary Duties: Retention of an assigned book of business through proactive portfolio management, including an understanding of available product and affordability offerings, performance guarantees and pricing strategies in order to renew clients and preserve earnings. Drive activities within the medical sales team around pharmacy-specific strategy development and execution for each client, risk assessment of client persistency, PBM competitive intelligence, and ongoing support in all facets of integrated product, service, and delivery activities. Participate in client meetings and presentations (both with and without support from Clinical Account Executive) to review client performance and sell in the suite of pharmacy management programs and solutions that align to Cigna's overall value proposition of lowering total healthcare cost. Act as the Pharmacy Sales Leader for complex renewals involving PBM-specialist consultants where we are typically competing against commission generating group purchasing organizations or coalitions. Cultivate meaningful, productive, mutually beneficial relationships internally and externally by gaining the confidence and trust of key stakeholders through honesty, integrity and reliability. Educate and consistently advance the knowledge of pharmacy within the medical sales organization. This includes deep dives on our products and services, as well as championing an understanding of the clinical and financial Value of Integration points across benefits. Communicate effectively, delivering multi-modal messages that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of the different audiences requiring interaction. Proactively anticipates communication needs in order to remove ambiguity. Actively participate in finalist meetings for existing business where necessary. Gather and share relevant competitive intelligence in support of retention and new sales efforts. Acts as the lead of subject matter expert support (including partnership with Clinical Account Executive, for the medical sales team or the Pharmacy Implementation Team with escalated clinical issues, when necessary. Manage complexity, by analyzing and making sense of a considerable volume of sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Asks the right questions and attentively listens to others. Additional Responsibilities: Lead meetings with clients and brokers to resolve service concerns; act as the escalated contact for pharmacy issues when contacted by the medical sales teams. Deliver detailed ad-hoc analysis of pharmacy claims utilization in order to provide clients with proactive consultation, as well as manage follow-up questions that may arise. Provide executive support for pricing, audit, and contract questions, as requested by internal partners managing these efforts. Any other tasks as defined by management and/or client needs not named above, as required to support our internal and external clients and partners which can include the following: Communication on any pharmacy announcements to clients in “real time” Handle escalated pharmacy member issues with Client Service Executives Distribution of client-specific Pharmacy Financial and Performance Guarantee reports, including rebate reconciliations Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of pharmacy related sections of the client’s ASO agreement Review and edit pharmacy related sections of client RFP responses for accuracy and clarity Create client-specific Pharmacy Business Plans to be leveraged with medical sales leads and enterprise leadership Create and present monthly / quarterly pharmacy updates including new product offerings Create and present monthly / quarterly industry updates / market event discussions Produce Full Value Summary review and recommendation documents outside of annual/quarterly client performance meetings Submission and management of non-standard offering (PBAB) requests related to Pharmacy Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred Master’s in Business Administration or other Graduate level education a plus 5+ years or more of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience supporting client expectations 5+ years of experience with the financial and pricing strategy of PBM Operational understanding and competence with PBM business model Prior experience in Finance, Underwriting, Broker or Manufacture Relations preferred Technical skills using all Microsoft programs Experience with consultative client management methodologies Proven ability to manage thru a renewal independently with minimal supervision Ability to work through the organizational processes needed to support clients (e.g. clinical in nature, exceptions, etc.) A self-motivated individual displaying ownership, accountability and responsibility Ability to travel up to 50% of the time depending on candidate’s location with little or no advance notice This role is anticipated to offer an annual salary of 118,000 - 196,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
