Main Functions The Rig Manager oversees all rig operations, including setup, takedown, movement, and crew safety. Responsibilities include managing daily paperwork, ensuring compliance with environmental and government regulations, and controlling production costs. The role requires working knowledge of all parts of a Workover Rig, troubleshooting mechanics, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Responsibilities Work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays, for operational needs, especially during 24-hour operations. Dependability in reporting and appearance; unauthorized absences may lead to termination. Provide field training and enforce company policies. Maintain accurate inventory of tools and chemicals. Make cost-effective decisions aligning with company standards. Prepare and review rig tickets, manage crew hours, and ensure hazard assessments are completed. Ensure proper PPE usage and communication with company and management teams. Report incidents immediately and maintain compliance with all regulations. Assist in employee development and maintain current certifications. Perform duties of a rig operator, floor hand, and derrick hand as needed. Follow safe operating procedures to protect workers, environment, and equipment. Employment Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience as a Floor Hand, Derrick Hand, Relief Operator, or Operator. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills in English. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, including technical tasks like pipe tallying, operating mud pumps, and handling pipe torques. Supervisory well control training preferred. Class B CDL license encouraged. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks. Basic computer skills. Ability to stand, walk, and sit indoors or outdoors. Pass pre-employment exam, drug screen, and physical. Acceptable criminal history; proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
