Job Description

Position: Manager, Health, Safety & Environmental Location: Houston, TX Job Id: 784 # of Openings: 1 Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role involves conducting risk assessments and analysis, creating programs to ensure safe working environments, and collaborating with various departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement HSE programs, ensuring appropriate execution and deployment. Implement and manage site-specific processes to reduce or eliminate accidents, workplace hazards, unsafe acts, and environmental liabilities. Maintain communication and collaboration with other departments to provide technical resource guidance and ensure consistent implementation of HSE process tools. Support business leaders and managers in the implementation of HSE programs and initiatives. Monitor and analyze HSE performance to identify improvement opportunities. Conduct HSE training relative to functional needs and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, DOT, State Department of Health). Perform accident investigation and root cause analysis for workplace injuries and vehicle collisions. Manage a team of HSE coordinators at various geographical locations. Ensure mandatory training requirements are consistently met and develop regional/functional customization and implementation planning. Conduct train the trainer safety classes to ensure all training is properly executed. Perform HSE audits and site inspections relative to regional and functional needs. Maintain administrative records related to health and safety programs. Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations that apply to all operations and job sites. Conduct facility inspections and risk assessments, ensuring all findings and observations are addressed. Perform job site inspections to verify compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company safety policies. Assure project managers and employees adhere to company policies and practices while performing assigned work. Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary for the role. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Industrial Engineering preferred. 6+ years’ experience within a Health, Safety, and Environment team embedding the safety culture and protocol. 3+ years of managing the Health, Safety and Environment program preferred. Previous experience working in a field operations capacity in a telecommunications or utility environment is highly desirable. OSHA Confined Space Training. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or related certification(s) is strongly preferred. Direct work experience interacting with regulatory agencies and compliance officers. OSHA certification or related workplace safety certification preferred. Previous experience leading a HSE team in various geographical locations preferred. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations. Previous experience implementing an HSE program required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
