Full-Time School Bus Driver – Immediate Opening
Location: Utica Academy of Science, SANY Schools
Pay Rate: $22-23/hr
Job Type: Full-Time (Flexible Schedule)

Immediate Supervisor: Transportation/Operations Manager

Utica Academy of Science, part of the Science Academies of New York (SANY), is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Full-Time School Bus Driver to join our team. This role involves safely transporting students and authorized personnel to and from assigned destinations, including daily routes, field trips, sporting events, and other school-related activities.

When not actively driving, the Bus Driver will assist with additional school operations duties as needed, ensuring a productive and engaging role within our school community. This may include light maintenance, assisting staff, or supporting school events.

• Safely operate a school bus, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment).
• Maintain accurate records of routes, vehicle maintenance, and student transport.
• Assist with general school support duties when not driving.
• Ensure a safe and respectful bus environment for students.
• Report any incidents, delays, or mechanical issues to the Transportation/Operations Manager.

• Valid CDL B or higher with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements .
• Minimum 3 years of school bus driving experience .
• Fingerprint clearance through the New York State Education Department .
• Clean driving record with no major infractions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to assist with school operations when not driving.
