5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from Sanger USD The Cybersecurity Manager develops, implements policies and procedures, monitors, and maintains cybersecurity programs, for Sanger Unified School District; identifies and addresses critical systems and critical digital assets; maintain cyber security attack mitigation and incident response capability; and provides assistance to higher level management as well as oversite and direction to relevant staff. This job reports to Director, Technology Support Services Essential Functions Collaborates with internal and external organizations (e.g. administrators, staff and outside agencies, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs. Manages the development and improvement of security monitoring and incident response processes and solutions for Sanger Unified School District, provide security guidance to staff for the purpose of the maintenance of cybersecurity best practices. Operates security monitoring and incident response tool sets with a focus on continuous improvement; for the purpose of monitoring and responding to attacks, intrusions, vulnerabilities, and risks with systems and networks. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Prepares a wide variety of references, presentations, policies and administrative materials (e.g. plans, budgets, funding requests, reports, analysis, recommendations, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, requests and issues; providing audit references, and/or meeting compliance requirements. Provides a coordinated response to complex cyber-attacks; identify threats and develops suitable defense measures, evaluate system changes for the purpose of security implications, and recommend enhancements; research and draft cyber security technical documentation. Refines anti-malware software policies for the purpose of ensuring that computers and networks are used appropriately to protect students and staff from receiving email from unapproved sources. Researches, recommends and deploys solutions for the purpose of incident response and digital forensics. Responds to help desk inquiries when required for the purpose of ensuring cybersecurity matters are dealt with promptly. Responsible for the planning, monitoring, securing, testing, upgrading and maintaining the District's network security infrastructure (e.g. network, desktops, servers, emails, cloud connected systems and other network attached devices, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining cybersecurity best practices. Serves as the project leader for major complex projects for the purpose of supporting the effective operation of the Technology Department. Trains and provides clear direction and guidance to staff and users as required regarding assigned programs in support of professional learning; travel to user sites as necessary for the purpose of meeting the needs of students and staff. Works additional hours and on extended assignments, including evenings and weekends for the purpose of accommodating testing, support, maintenance, and potential call back for emergencies and project deadlines. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and utilize equipment under a variety of conditions for multiple purposes. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of types of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; available on-call; dealing with frequent interruptions; displaying mechanical aptitude; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; working extended hours. Responsibility Responsibilities include: working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; providing information and/or advising others; tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed in a clean atmosphere. Experience Job related experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required. Education : Bachelors degree in job-related area. Equivalency : Four (4) years of professional experience in systems design, development, scripting, network design, administration, and optimization in a large LAN/WAN production environment. Knowledge of multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access controls, virtual private networks (VPN), public key infrastructure (PKI), single sign-on (SSO), encryption, and service hardening based on security standards such as Critical Security Controls (CIS) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). At least one (1) year of this experience must have included the primary responsibility for network, server, and systems security similar to those described in the essential functions above may be substituted for educational requirement.
